We recently shared that Black-owned premium streetwear brand DIPLOMACY partnered with NBA New Orleans Pelicans player, Wes Iwundu, on its Free the Future capsule collection. Now the premium streetwear collection has made its way to Fairfax for a limited time pop-up where you can shop the Free the Future collection alongside other up-and-coming brands.

We attended the Free the Future pop-up and even on one of Los Angeles’s busiest streets, the Diplomacy pop-up still turned heads. After getting a few questions answered by Wes, the NBA player turned fashion influencer, we’re excited to see Diplomacy Worldwide’s next move.

1) The collaboration with Eric was a first for you with Diplomacy, do you see yourself working with each other on additional collections?

Collaborating with Eric Archibald and the Diplomacy team was a thrill, creatively speaking.  The ideas flowed freely and we connected easily. We actually have a new Free the Future capsule collection dropping early next year that we are so excited about!

2) What was the response to the Free the Future collection? You must be proud to have a hand in a collection that meets at the crossroads of fashion & social impact

The response to Free The Future has been very enthusiastic, I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished thus far but we’re still in the early stages of this project.  I’m excited to see where we can take this collaboration over the next 6-12 months.

3) Some of the proceeds from the collection went to Boys & Girls Club of Houston in your hometown - do you have any other organizations you’d like a chance to give back to or have a chance to work alongside in the future?

The collection is still on sale and we’re pushing hard to sell out, so we can give Boys and Girls club a nice fat check!  (Everybody please go to Free-The-Future.com and buy a tee shirt or a hoodie!)  I’d love to work with more philanthropic organizations where there is a philosophical alignment.  "Free the Future” is a rallying cry for everybody who is struggling — so giving back is basically built into the brand name.  I’m excited to find more opportunities where we can use our brand to help generate revenue for organizations aligned with our mission.

The Free the Future capsule collection is priced at $20 - $210 and is still available for purchase at diplomacyworldwide.com with more potential collections to come.
